Real Maine Food

We are trying to stick to our guns about sourcing locally and since Mainley Poultry halted the wholesale side of their bird business, finding a new source for chicken has been hard. Another wrench in the plans is that in the real Maine food world, chickens grown in Maine aren’t ready for harvest until late spring/early summer. Look for chicken to return to the menu during the summer, but if you know of a Maine farmer or butcher that wholesales boneless skinless thighs, please let us know!

Our short term solution is to replace the chicken on the menu with a Cheeseburger Fatty. Straight up it comes with a quarter pound of Cold Spring Ranch grass fed beef burger, jack cheese, our salsa fresca, onions, fresh spring lettuce, a pickle, and Rob Mac’s special sauce all rolled up in a handmade Maine Grain tortilla. It’s GD good and we think those of you out there who may be a little shy about trying the rice and bean type Fatty might give it a shot.

To replace the nugs, we’ll do a Grilled Cheese Flatty (yes, Flatty!) It’s a Cheese Fatty then grilled flat–YUM!. Hopefully this works to satisfy little taste buds (haha)!

Thanks for supporting our mission here at Rolling Fatties–to prepare food from happy, healthy farms and gardens and serve people with a passion for eating well and having fun.
