Every year we take a trip to Jonesport. Rob’s family was among it’s first settlers, and summer wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the town, the beach, and those deep Downeast roots.
The trip also sets us on a path to pick up our yearly supply of wild Maine blueberries. We go to Wild Wescogus Blueberries because it’s right on the way. We could (and sometimes do) get blueberries more locally at Hargest Farms out in Salem, but the Jonesport trip is all about tradition and the blueberries are a part of that.
Today, we made these. They are little desserts we’re calling Nacho Blueberry Bowls.
All dressed up with a little crema and a pinch of cilantro, they are totally bad ass.
