We are happy to fill your water bottles and serve you glasses of water here at Rolling Fatties, but you’ll not be able to buy a plastic bottle of water here any more. The story of bottled water is a sad one. Recently the little family-run bottled water company that supplied our water went out of business. They don’t offer a reason (other than filing for bankruptcy).
We made a big decision after serving our last bottle of Carrabassett Spring Water, that we would no longer buy water in a bottle. We feel great about it. We won’t be contributing to unnecessary waste (plastic bottles), unnecessary energy use (recycling, bottling, distributing, this is a long list…), we won’t be spending money on something we pay for anyway (we have to pay for good clean tap water), and we won’t be contributing in such a direct way to the depletion and exploitation of a natural resource.
